FUE Hairline Restoration and Medical Hair Loss Therapy
This 52-year-old male patient has been on finasteride for 20 years and oral minoxidil for 2 years. Although his hair loss was slow, it was still progressive and he wanted to re-establish his hairline to achieve a more youthful appearance. During his consultation for possible hair transplantation with Dr. Rogers, she advised adding dutasteride twice weekly to his medical therapy protocol in order to continue to maintain his hair and help fill in his crown.

Dr. Rogers and the patient agreed on FUE hair transplant, which involved harvesting the grafts individually. To excise the grafts, the donor area needed to be shaved so that Dr. Rogers could see the exit angle of the hair shaft to safely remove the grafts. She harvested 1,282 hair grafts to restore his hairline and frontal region. The crown was untouched.
After 1 year the patient returned and was very happy with a full front hairline and the crown hair loss reduced thanks to the updated medical therapy.
