Improved Hair Density One Year After FUT Hair Transplant Surgery
This patient came to Hair Restoration of the South seeking additional hair coverage, particularly through the crown. He previously underwent follicular unit transplantation (FUT) at another practice to restore his frontal scalp but wanted a fuller crown that blended more naturally with the transplanted hair in front.

Dr. Nicole Rogers performed an FUT procedure consisting of 1,840 follicular-unit grafts. The grafts were carefully placed to improve crown coverage and create a more balanced transition between the front and back of the scalp.

As part of his overall hair-restoration plan, the patient also began taking oral finasteride, 1 mg daily, and oral minoxidil, 2.5 mg daily, under medical supervision. These medications can help preserve existing hair and support improved density in appropriate patients.
At his one-year follow-up, the patient demonstrated a significant improvement in crown coverage and a much more cohesive appearance across the scalp. Our team—and, most importantly, the patient—was very excited about his progress.

Hair-transplant growth can continue to mature beyond the first year. By staying consistent with his prescribed finasteride treatment, this patient may see further improvement in the crown while helping maintain his existing hair over time.
